Proud Mary Pizzeria started, as most good ideas do, with a pint. Actually, a few.
Best mates Cal and Viks first teamed up in 2024 to launch Proud Mary Extra Virgin Olive Oil. What began as a love for proper ingredients, bold flavour and striking design quickly took on a life of its own. The oil landed on tables, shelves and menus, and Proud Mary was suddenly everywhere. They kept plugging away, learning fast, cooking constantly, and dreaming bigger.
Then in late summer of 2025, they met Joel from The Good Egg.
The original plan was simple: grab a pint and talk about getting Proud Mary olive oil into some of Joel's restaurants. One drink became several. Conversation drifted from supply chains to sound systems, from sourdough to nightlife. Somewhere between rounds, the trio realised they didn’t just want to collaborate. They wanted to build something together.
That night, Proud Mary Pizzeria was born.
A neighbourhood pizzeria
Set in the heart of Walthamstow Village, Proud Mary Pizzeria is an east London neighbourhood pizzeria with a late-night edge. By day, it’s the relaxed and welcoming Good Egg. By night, it becomes a rock ’n’ roll neon dancefloor, anchored by a spinning mirror ball that crowns the room as you dine.
There’s a vinyl record station where guests can flick, choose and even spin a few tracks, or bring their own records and make the place theirs. It’s part pizzeria, part listening bar, part speakeasy, and proudly independent.

At the centre of it all is the food.
Our pizzas are built on slow-fermented, fresh dough, stretched by hand and cooked for flavour, texture and balance. We draw inspiration from East London pizza traditions, with our own Proud Mary twist, generous pours of olive oil pizza East London style, high-quality toppings, and ingredients we genuinely care about. You even get a free Bloody or Virgin Mary with each order.

THE UMBRELLAS
At some point, Calum and Vikesh decided Proud Mary needed umbrellas.
There wasn't a particularly complicated business case for this.
They just thought people standing in the rain would look way better with big Proud Mary umbrellas on top of them.
So they made some.
Pink, obviously. And with the now famous Proud Mary branding.
The public
There is something strangely satisfying about seeing someone standing in the pissing rain reaching for a brolly with your branding on it.
Now, our umbrellas can be seen fending off cats and dogs nationwide.
It was also another small sign that the brand was becoming something beyond olive oil. The world of Proud Mary was beginning to grow into other realms, like folding canopies, built to protect against sun or rain.
And, this being Britain, an umbrella is probably a wise stock to invest in.
PEOPLE HAVE BEEN TALKING ABOUT US
Somehow we've found our way into magazines, newspapers, podcasts, panels and the occasional rather fancy room.
